Weight loss is a big and time commitment to make and most people find it hard to stick with. There are many different ways to lose weight, depending on how much you enjoy exercise and how active you have been over the last few months. If you've got a favorite sport that makes you feel great and has made you comfortable then this guide is for you.
There are really good reasons why we need to lose weight. From stress relief to reduce your risk of illness and a healthier lifestyle overall. Everyone loves being healthy but when it comes to losing weight there are some guidelines.
1. Losing belly fat and preventing heart disease
It's not always easy, especially during those times when you're having a difficult period or after having a child at home (or even if you're already pregnant). Having belly fat can be an issue and can make it harder to control your blood pressure but doing these simple things will keep it at bay.
2. Lose weight faster
You may think that by shedding pounds faster (or not) you won't get rid of them, or if you do you will make a huge difference in your life. But, if weight loss occurs faster it puts more strain on your body and can cause health issues such as diabetes type 2 or heart problems. This can prove very challenging, so try to find the perfect balance between a fast and slow process.
3. Enjoy your food better
By eating healthier you are less likely to end up binge eating which means less temptation, fewer sugar cravings, and less guilt. Also, making the most out of every meal is a good way of gaining more energy and nutrients. You may want to try cooking one large dish over a week instead of two small ones.
4. Exercise your muscles more
Exercising your muscle fibers can help increase your metabolism and reduce body fat. Muscles are also able to burn fat from their fats and you don't need to worry about a lack of activity being good for you. Don't forget though that you need to make sure you do enough resistance training and weight training if you want to achieve the changes necessary to reduce your body fat percentage. Make sure you do these activities in a balanced manner if you are not able to go for them straight away.
5. Practice self-care
We know that self-care is important but we don't need to rely on any products when our bodies are running low. We should also focus on self-care and take care of ourselves. Self-care comes in many forms and includes self-massage, baking, journaling, and more. These little chores will help us to maintain good sleep habits, help with anxiety, depression, and stress, improve digestion, decrease inflammation and improve sleep cycles. When practiced daily or at least three days a week, self-care is the best thing we can do for ourselves.
6. Do something creative
If you've got a hobby or interest in sports, then this is where things go wrong! While fitness is essential for everyone, getting yourself fit and burning all those calories only for a short while is not going to happen overnight when you are determined and motivated to stay fit. Instead, do something creative that you enjoy doing and keeps your mind and body busy. Think back to when you were young and try to recreate that feeling. It's not something you can just do to put a smile on your face, so don't force anything down. Find something that's fun and you can start enjoying it once you've finished. Try new foods, try yoga, music, and anything else that you're passionate about and you can see that they are good for you. Your body is ready for it.
7. Spend time with friends
We find it easy to look to other people to find inspiration about what we need to do. However, social media is such an incredible device to use. By spending time with your friends and family you can gain confidence, share ideas, inspire each other and build your support network. You are much more likely to motivate yourself when you surround yourself with positive thoughts and opinions, and friends that you trust are helping motivate you too. So remember to spend some time with the people around you and remember that you’re not alone in this process. Your body will be asking for your support in the long term and spending time with others doesn’t mean you’re stuck and isolating yourself if you’re not doing well with exercise or diet. Look to be happy and be open to receiving help from others who share your same passions.
8. Do something relaxing or something healthy
Losing weight without working out has a lot to do with your body being used to doing everything. Some people find they would like to work out in the mornings and others don't, while others are more resistant and need more rest than you. A person may also find it hard to burn off calories throughout the day because of all the pressure they put on themselves to lose weight overnight. Take advantage of your body's natural tendency to reward you for taking short breaks with activities that give you the mental benefit of exercise and some kind of physical reward. For example, playing tennis or swimming can give you confidence and confidence that can only come from a workout and a healthy diet. Not doing something pleasurable like watching television, listening to the radio, or surfing the web can lead to a relapse of the same old attitude that leads to overeating when we feel hungry.
9. Eat slowly and avoid snacking
A snack might stop you from binge eating but it isn't a treat. Snacking in the afternoon or before lunch can be extremely unhealthy and can lead to binge eating later on. Always eat in a smaller portion so you're not tempted by a junk food craving. Avoiding the occasional cheat meal between meals will allow your digestive system to rest so you are not as dependent on food. Focus on snacks that are high in nutrition, that provide you with energy, that are healthy to your own body, and those that stimulate your metabolism. The first step towards changing your relationship with your body is learning to love it. This means giving it proper attention and allowing your body to recover from its day-to-day tasks.
10. Be active at the gym
It sounds obvious if someone told you what to do but it is quite useful when you finally decide you want to change your life and how do you do that? Get in the habit of exercising regularly now and make an effort to reach a level of exercise every day and make it part of your morning routine. As a result, you'll start to realize it is not just your body that needs attention. With all that said, if you're unable to make it to the gym then consider using the walk-in facilities such as Ynjo, Yoga Australia, or Pilates Australia to be active but still do something enjoyable! Even if you don't like the workouts they offer flexibility training and weights training for either muscle groups or your individual goals. Plus, if you have children then find another form of exercise that allows for them to join and participate. They can help you get through tough days with the added benefits of healthy skin, happiness, and improved posture.
