In this article we’ve listed seven things you should start doing today to increase your productivity. Let’s go!
1. Start Your Morning With A Healthy Breakfast
Breakfast is one of those meals where every person needs to eat healthy foods for breakfast, at least twice a day. The key component of a healthy breakfast is eating three important nutrients in order: fiber, protein, and water. Fiber helps you feel full for longer periods of time, allowing you to maintain good bowel function while maintaining the ability to absorb enough water from other fluids in your body to stay normal. Protein keeps you energetic, has a direct effect on energy production, regulates metabolism, makes your muscles stronger, and helps regulate muscle growth. Water is fundamental because water helps cells detoxify food so it can use more fat, which leads to less inflammation and better blood flow to your organs. When the body is well hydrated it can work harder and look healthier. This will allow you to do all your tasks and leave your body feeling much stronger than when you were dehydrated.
If there is nothing at the breakfast table that makes you feel hungry, then try these recipes for yogurt toast, pancakes, waffles, muffins, eggs, spinach salad, etc. It is important to ensure that your diet includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes, and dairy products. You don’t need to drink alcohol, sugar-free beverages, or caffeine from coffee to be considered fully functional. Even if you don’t like sweetened beverages these ingredients can add flavor as well as moisture to make your mornings bright and fresh.
2. Get Some Sleep
You know how important sleep is in optimizing your productivity and mental health. Research shows that people’s productivity peaks when they get between six hours and eight hours of sleep each night. But that doesn’t mean that everyone gets enough rest that way. There are many ways to achieve a balance that doesn’t require going to bed at night—and the easiest way is to simply take more long naps today or in the morning. While taking shorter nap breaks over the course of the day is not recommended, giving yourself something extra at your first meal is a great way to give yourself another boost of energy. Also, don't forget to exercise for at least 30 minutes each afternoon and evening, so you are getting physical activity in addition to any other activities or fitness goals you may have.
3. Spend Time In A Small Space Or Room
It can be difficult to find time during the day to devote yourself to working and relaxing in the space you currently live. However, by keeping busy with everyday tasks that generate stress or give you no idea of how to complete them, you can create a space that is suitable for both—work or relax. No matter where you spend your time, if you keep yourself busy enough you will find that you are able to work smarter, stay more focused, and work more comfortably without actually thinking about it. Have some fun with small spaces and room or furniture that you can put into use today. Set up your workspace or open space where you can turn around your desk chair and turn the lamp on. Remember that being cozy while looking for all the books is great too.
4. Say Thank You Every Day
You know how essential saying thank you is for making someone else's day? You're right. It gives you peace of mind and lets others know you appreciate them and want to help make their lives a bit easier for them. And once you open your heart to a loved one or couple you can make them feel that they are loved and cared for and they care about you and want to help you be happy. Saying "thank you" each day is important for us not just for making others' days a little easier but also for ourselves. Not having that sense of belonging to make people better is extremely frustrating. Because we are never alone. Being a part of another group is life’s purpose. When there are other groups of people who share the same experiences and struggle, there is always hope. You can never stop learning. Being thankful towards God will teach you how grateful you are for what He gave you.
5. Practice Gratitude
It’s easy to get caught up in our own heads and lose sight of everything else around us that surrounds us. One minute we are planning dinner we’re stressed out about the weather and have forgotten to plan our grocery list. the next minute we're stressing about the traffic and having a terrible time trying to make sure we don't miss this meeting. We know why there are no kids running around anymore and we're upset about losing two jobs and not enjoying our family anymore. If we keep doing this, we will never get back to being truly grateful.
6. Find Something That Helps You Get Better At Something Else
There’s a misconception that if you practice self improvement exercises you will magically become a master at them. Self improvement is a step-by-step process that takes patience and perseverance, but the truth is that this isn’t true at all. The real goal for many people is to simply learn more skills and get used to them in a comfortable way that allows them to get better at any area of their life. For example, I recently had my car fixed by an auto mechanic that I met online. After he took pictures and explained exactly what he was doing it became clear to me that he was creating a personal connection with me that helped me trust him rather than assuming he knew what he was doing.
All those tiny moments when I felt seen and valued were helpful and strengthened my ability to become better at something else. What works for a student that is already familiar with the subject might not work for a new student whose interest doesn’t lie with the material itself. Be patient with yourself.
